UK Study Confirms E-Cigs as Successful Cessation Tools
For the last couple of months (well, years actually) e cigarette industry was getting hammered by opposition, especially here in the US. Falsified and botched reports on how e cigarettes are dangerous and a ‘gateway’ to smoking are popping up like mushrooms after the rain. The same is happening all over the world, including the UK. However, UK scientists are still allowed to publish actually data and one of their recent reports conclude that smokers can indeed quit smoking by using electronic cigarettes.
A study published by BHM (whose findings were corroborated by University College London and Cancer Research UK) concludes that smokers who use e cigarettes during the smoking cessation period are more successful. Professor West, one of the researchers says ‘“England is sometimes singled out as being too positive in its attitude to e-cigarettes. This data suggests that our relatively liberal regulation of e-cigarettes is probably justified.”
Well, the numbers don’t lie. There are approximately 2.8 million vapers in the UK now and the country can boast with the lowest number of cigarette smokers ever recorded!
