FDA Takes Heed of Recent Battery Explosions
The most dangerous part of any mod or a vaping pen is the battery. Thanks to the usual tubular design of many vaping devices this effectively turns them into small rockets when something goes wrong. However, even though there are instances where a mishap couldn’t have been avoided because the battery was at fault, most battery-related accidents in vaping occur through mishandling or low expertise.
Due to a recent increase in (reported) battery explosion, the FDA has decided to organize a public workshop scheduled for April 19-20, 2017. They will be seeking information on ENDS design and associated risks, battery concerns, and public education. You can register using this link and registration is open until March 17, 2017. Attendance is free and the event will be broadcasted live via Webcast.
